India vs South Africa: Kohli's heroics guide India to the final
The Indian team defeated South Africa by six wickets in the second semi-final of the World T20 on Friday, riding on a brilliant half-century by Virat Kohli, who was adjudged the Man of the Match.
India will now face Sri Lanka in the final on Sunday.
Chasing a challenging target of 173, India lost Rohit Sharma (1) cheaply but Kohli (72 not out) and Ajinkya Rahane (34) steadied the innings with a 71-run stand for the second wicket. Kohli was in sublime touch and hit seven fours and two sixes in his 44-ball knock. Shikhar Dhawan (23) and Suresh Raina (21) also made useful contributions as India reached the target with two balls to spare.
Earlier, South Africa rode on a brilliant century by Faf du Plessis (75) to post 172 for four. Du Plessis hit eight fours and three sixes in his 58-ball knock. AB de Villiers (22) and David Miller (23) also chipped in with useful contributions.
India's bowlers did a good job to restrict South Africa to a manageable total. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2/24) and Ravichandran Ashwin (1/23) were the pick of the bowlers.
In the other semi-final, Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand by five wickets to set up a clash with India in the final.
